I was born in Lugano, Switzerland, 5th September 1939. In short we can say that on 60 years, I have spent more or less the last 40 driving every type of cars on tracks and roads all over the world. People particularly remember Formula 1, especially those years when I drove for Ferrari. But those years which were maybe the most exciting, were just a little part of my long racing career. A career that you can see summarized in the section here below. Keeping the traces of 18 years of competitive spirit is a work neither I would nor I have ever done. But one of my supporters, who is very keen on car racing, took the trouble to collect this huge amount of data: I thank him once again for this web site. Thanks to his collection I discovered I had competed 250 car races from 1963 to 1980 (177 finished), I had run up 25 first, 25 second and 21 third placements. In Formula 1 alone I had driven 132 Grand Prix (six times first, thirteen times second and ten times third), with 5 pole position, 15 fastest laps, 212 world championship points and 361 laps in the lead, equal to 1856 kilometers.
CWho would like to know more about this and help in sustaining the non-profit association "Aiutiamo la Paraplegia - Club Clay Regazzony Onlus" (Let's help paraplegia-Club Clay Regazzoni Onlus) can read my two books "È questione di cuore" (It's a matter of heart) and "E la corsa continua" (And the race continues). The first one, "È una questione di cuore", which was awarded both the Premio letterario of Coni and Premio Bancarella, can be directly requested to the
al Club Secretary. |
